Fringes February 2026: pain-dark horror and profound, daring hope

We gathered for our 19th birthday, the start of our 20th year, in a time of so much danger and possibility. Our service included songs being sung as wild resistance in Minnesota, and for our torah study we were joined by Minneapolis Jewish activists Sharon Jaffe and Jessica Rosenberg to share what their experience has been, how people have organized, and what might come next.

For our consequences piece we used this beautiful post by Minneapolis activist/body worker/podcaster Susan Raffo:

We used three short videos as part of the service, which you’ll see as still images in the slide deck:

Amanda Gorman sharing her poem about the murder of Alex Pretti

Activists walking through the streets of Minneapolis singing “Hold On”

Activists in downtown Minneapolis outside the ICE office to encourage agents to leave now that they’ve seen the horrors being enacted on people. Read more about the context for this song! And follow @singingresistance on Instagram to be alerted of trainings and resources being offered.
