Send Elliott to Yetzirah!

Amazing news, Fringe Dwellers – I’m one of 36 Jewish poets accepted to the first-ever summer conference for Yetzirah: A Hearth for Jewish Poetry. I’ll be spending 5 days studying, writing, and talking Jewish poetry with Jewish poets in Asheville, NC in late June. Faculty includes Rodger Kamenetz, Ilya Kaminsky, Jacqueline Osherow, and Alicia Ostriker.

I’m asking for your support to help me attend – my work for Fringes helped me get accepted, and I want to bring all of you along. Financial support will be deeply appreciated, of course, and also your encouragement and blessings. After a too-long writing drought I’ve been creating new work again, so this opportunity could not have come at a better time.

The conference tuition and housing is $1200, plus another $200 for conference expenses, plus another $500 or so for travel, plus $250 for cat care single-woman-me can be away. Click here if you want to donate, or there’s a button on the top right of this page.

(Also happy postscript – Two of the poems in my God’s Body series are coming out in the next issue of Lilith, due in mid-May. Stay tuned – I’ll post again when they go live!)
